There’s a fitness room in the building I work at. It’s cute and all, but I was having a hard time getting motivated to go there let alone push myself there. I tried going at different times: before work, at lunchtime, and after work. I couldn’t really stick to anything. Because my fitness was lacking, my nutrition started lacking big time. Quickly I was at my heaviest and unhealthiest. I was chatting with my friend who does CrossFit, and I immediately fell in love with the concept. I’ve always been a little overwhelmed by the idea of CrossFit, but he said it’s basically like having a personal trainer coach you through workouts but without paying exorbitant personal trainer costs.
I found CrossFit New Life on Google Maps, and it had great reviews,so I gave it a try. The first workout I went to, we started off with some jumping jacks to get warmed up. Easy enough, right? By the end of the short warmup,my claves were on fire and starting to cramp up. I thought “During warmup? Oh boy, this is going to hurt.” And it did. But the good kind of hurt. The sore kind of hurt that makes you feel accomplished the rest of the day and motivated to make healthy choices. That was back in May, and I’ve absolutely LOVED CrossFit New Life. The coaches are kind, extremely supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They motivate me to push myself harder and more often than I ever would by myself. The other CrossFit New Life members are an amazing, supportive family. I have lost weight, gained muscle, and feel so much healthier both physically and mentally than I ever though I could. I’ve got a ways to go,fitness-wise, but I couldn’t be happier to be doing it with the CrossFit New Life family. Turns out CrossFit isn’t as daunting or scary as I thought it would be. The coaches tailor each workout, each movement to the individual. Literally anyone can do CrossFit. Come hang out with us sometime to give it a try and get your fitness on!
If you are looking to be healthy for life, a gym to go to, or a way to try/start/continue doing CrossFit, then this is definitely the place to be! Healthy living begins with a commitment to oneself and the community support here at CrossFit New Life is second to none.
I started at CrossFit New Life (CFNL) in January 2017 and the experience has been incredible. The coaches here are very knowledgeable and sincerely care about the wellbeing of their members. I’ve felt like a part of the family here since the beginning because everyone is so welcoming and encouraging. Being prone to hyperinsulinemia, I have seen huge benefits from coming to CrossFit New Life as the coaches and community help me to make healthy choices both in and out of the gym. Surrounding yourself with likeminded individuals is crucial to success in any endeavor and you would be hard-pressed to find a better group than we have here at CFNL!
What makes the best Cross-fit box??? Size of the gym? Flashy equipment? Fancy walls? Name? Nope...! For me the most important is: knowledgeable coaches, their desire to give everything they have, hard working, encouraging and friendly co-athletes... and that's what makes the best cross-fit box! If you are looking for this, CrossFit New Life is the place! Dillon and Justin are great coaches. 5 star.

What's to say about this gym that hasn't already been said?! I've been going to CFNL for a little over a year and a half and have been amazed at how easy it is to motivate myself to go every day. I attribute the motivation to the coaching staff, the other members at the gym (CFamNL is the best gym family) and the variation in workouts every day. The coaching staff is so fun to work with and is incredibly eager to help you grow (while also keeping in mind your limitations). With their support, I've done things that I never thought I'd be able to do (strict pull ups AFTER a full workout) and been cheered on despite finishing very last in a workout. If you're looking for a place to get a quick, challenging workout in, this is your place!
I've been going to CFNL for 2.5 years. It's the longest I've ever dedicated to a workout regimen! I attribute it to three things. First, the fact I can show up and be guaranteed a great workout with no planning on my part. Second, once you notice your strength and endurance improving it's really motivating. And since you workout with the same people everyday they tend to notice, too! Affirmation from friends and coaches is very positive. Third, the people are really great. BBQ's, celebrations, even spring cleaning parties have high attendance. You really feel invested in the people and the growth of the gym.
The coaches are very attentive, I've never had an injury. And as a plus, it's one of the most affordable gyms in the valley. Personally, I've drastically improved my strength and endurance. Even shaved a minute off my mile time. Pull-ups and double-unders are so rewarding to get! It's really easy to pop in and try it out. Coaches are dedicated to making sure it will work for you before pressuring you into a contract. I highly recommend CrossFit New Life!
CFNL is the definition of community, with top class trainers who are knowledgeable and very personable. The programming is never dull and continues to push me outside of my comfort zone. The icing on the cake is the other members who I now consider family. I remember my motivation to workout began with the desire to join my dad and uncle for a canoe race down the Missouri river, the MR340, 340 miles in less than 88 hours. I looked up a bunch of gyms and was comparing prices. Dillon didn't give me a price but told me to come and try it first then to decide. I'm so glad cuz i never would have tried it if I knew the cost first. The gym kicked my butt and I still have to have things modified but the effect it had and continues to have on my emotional and mental well being far outweighs the expense. I took a year off and all i could think about was getting back to it because my mental emotional and physical well-being suffered. I remember noticing the difference that when I went hiking or dancing which I loved but found physically challenging became more enjoyable because it wasn't a challenge anymore.
I found that while at times i felt little to no improvement in the gym and was always and still am always huffing and puffing i no longer ran out of breath doing everyday or extracurricular physical activities. I felt like I could do anything and I found that I was able to handle hard things in life so much better and I was able to do hard things. Dillon knows exactly when to push me and when to just encourage me. He helps me when I'm feeling down and feel like I'm not good enough or can't do it by lifting me up and encouraging me. He helps me when I'm just feeling lazy and don't have the motivation to do it by pushing me to do more. I don't know how he does it but he finds the perfect balance of pushing me and lifting me up. My motivation for life improves everyday i go to the gym even if i have physical limitations due to injury.
